Lesson 10: Thumbnails for cigarstore Indian colored sketch. All the shapes were so compelling. Hard to choose.

Lesson 10: Story I wanted to tell was about textures: stone well, carved posts and tile roof. W/C pencil, then simplified brushpen. Like muted color instead of vivid. Something I need to learn.

Lesson 10: Did pencil thumbnail in corner, sketched in pencil and added brushpen. I like the lines too much to add color.

Lesson 10: Tried to make lamppost and door around it the focus. So hard to subordinate great door and sign on left!

Lesson 8 Indoor Prompt. These are both done with some new Yarka watercolors and the cheap brush that came with them on the new moleskine sketchbook paper. I liked the second much better. I did it with a few pencil lines, pentel brushpen and loose watercol

Lesson 7: Owl gourd ornament done with new Lamy pen and ink. I got the Holmes urban sketching book for Christmas and went to the online bonus lesson on just using water with ink. Fun.

Lesson 6 Outdoor Prompt: Freezing cold weather suggested to me that I use a photo for this, so I picked an interesting one. I preferred the second version, done with watercolor shape first. A surprise!

Lesson 5 Measured bathroom items: my mother's perfume, bathsalts made by my daughter and my father's scissors. Yellow watercolor pencil, brown tombow pen and watercolor on moleskine sketchbook.

Lesson 4 Drawing through a table and chairs. Wow, what a complex table I found. But I really like using this method and plan to do it a lot more!
