WAVZ 13: Meet "old faithful", my trusty 1998 Honda Accord. It gets regular maintenance, a car wash after snowstorms and waxed four times a year. The car's still quite zippy with its VTEC engine. At 135,000 miles, it's just broken in. New York. March 2021
WAVZ 13: Back in the 1960s, Comet and Ajax were portrayed in TV ads as fierce competitors. In some of the animated black and white commercials, they actually "duked it out". Do you still have a favorite, or just buy the cheapest one at the Dollar Tree store?

WAVZ 13: Not one, not two, but THREE McDonald's McRibs! I've traveled far and wide to find these (well, the adjacent town, anyway). This is one of McDonald's most clever marketing schemes. Its not a national product, but appears at random stores across the country
WAVZ 13: I had a love/hate relationship with this 1979 Pontiac Sunbird. Anything that could possibly go wrong eventually did. Still, the 231 V6 was fast and the four speed manual was a blast to drive. It looked kind of like a baby Firebird. Nyack, NY. June 1986

WAVZ 13: Who needs a Dollar Store when you could buy chuck roast at 37 cents a pound, 3 pounds of hamburger meat for $1.35 and potatoes in a 20 pound bag for 99 cents? And... they gave out Plaid Stamps (remember those?) Somewhere in America. 1961.
WAVZ 13: Train tracks deep in the heart of New Jersey by late afternoon light. Two chemical cars in the background. I was down there over the weekend and this view caught my eye. The place reminded me of a similar photo from 1973 shown below. Jan 2021

WAVZ 13: Will the REAL Pete Levy please stand up! Remember the "To Tell The Truth" TV show where 3 contestants claimed to be the same person. I took a photo of Pete, had two copies made and glued them to a cardboard backing to create masks for a Halloween party.
