My last Thanksgiving outside of the United States is in the books! I was blessed to spend it with the @archokc contingent in Rome, consisting of Fr. Christopher Brashears, and seminarians William Banowsky and Jerome Krug. God bless America!
Fr. Brian Buettner:
It was a great blessing to celebrate Mass this morning for the sisters at Domus Guadalupe. Some of the sisters work at the Vatican, other congregations, or are in academic programs. I asked them to pray in a special way for Kyler Bradley, a young boy in s

This is one of my favorite pictures from the visit to the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican yesterday. I took so many pictures that my phone died on the way back to the residence. The Swiss Guard are a great group of guys that are committed to protecting th

So... I have been up since 2:30am, but I have got a lot of stuff done, including a run in the rain. It is not even 11am!!! #watchmenaenae #sleepdeprived

Good morning! This weekend, in preparation for the Solemnity of Christ the King on Sunday, the priests of the Casa Santa Maria are prayerfully preparing through forty hours of Eucharistic Adoration. So, my day began with a Holy Hour at 3am and then I cele

Today was a great day to be a priest! I was able to attend a private audience and heard the Holy Father encourage priests to be holy and humble... and always listen to mom! Thanks mom and dad for your sacrifices that assisted @ougrl22, @isharp777, and me

Pope Francis met with the participants of the conference marking the 50th anniversary of two documents from Vatican II on the priesthood. It has been a great conference and it was great to see the Holy Father so close!

I have a two-hour class that starts at 5:30pm and it is already dark. It is starting to feel a bit like winter.
Fr. Brian Buettner:
Another beautiful autumn sunset in the Eternal City of Rome. Things have been a little more stressful with the increased risk of terrorist attacks, but nights like this help keep things in perspective.
Fr. Brian Buettner:
An eerily quiet night in Rome. There is hardly anyone on the streets tonight. I would be back at the residence, but I have tickets to see "The Legend of Zelda: The Symphony of the Goddesses." It reminds me of when I went to see "The Lord of the Rings Symp

I was thinking back to the truly enjoyable walk along the Appian Way yesterday with a friend. It was a beautiful walk, great conversation, delicious lunch, and the awesome opportunity to visit the Villa of Maxentius and the second largest, and the best pr

This morning after Mass I walked to Piazza Farnese to pray for all of the victims of Friday Night's terrorist attacks in Paris. In front of the French Embassy to Italy people have been flooding the square with flowers and prayers at a makeshift memorial.
Fr. Brian Buettner:
I was heartbroken to wake up to the news coming out of Paris following several terrorist attacks. May the souls of all who have died rest in peace. Our prayers are with you all! #prayforparis #paris
