I went out hoping to get a sunset shot ! That idea fizzled ! but I did get some shots of the blowing snow right now. It's also very cold and getting colder

Coming back from Fallen Timbers Mall on west river road. We have had a rare and very intense sunset. This is the actual sunset all I did was crop a little.It looked like the sky had turned to a field of molten lava.

Intense sunset ! Rarely have I seen one like this. All the conditions came together, Right kind of cloud cover ! A really intense yellow-orange light with the right atmospheric conditions to produce it.

Intense Red . a few days ago when I was just coming by the airport heading to Swanton we had a light display that went deep red. I grabbed a shot thru the trees that border Garden rd but by the time I got to an open area it had faded to nothing.

When I am out and about I always have one of my cameras with me. Coming back from the store and gas station passing Valleywood. Sun was dropping below the horizon when I rolled down the window and grabbed this shot.

Photo from a couple of days ago. Today (Sunday ) it's raining, kind of chilly and not really much of a day to be outside. I even managed to catch leaves being blown off a tree in this shot.

Coming back from the preserve on Fulton- Lucas Rd. and a sunset started to take shape sp I pulled over and waited.

Patience paid off ! Got a red turbulent looking sunset. Sun has been below the horizon for at least 5 min and color is now starting to fade.Went from orange to a redish orange and finally to this.In a few more min. the color had faded out.

These three shots were taken on the 28th of September from different locations around Valleywood and environs. I also cropped some but tried to keep things as close to reality as it looked while the sun was going down.

This was actually the last shot . There was an orange glow on the horizon as the sun was just dipping below it but shielded by some trees

Stopped to catch this sunset. First one in a while. The weather because of the hurricanes is humid to the point of almost being unbearable for us northern types.

heading for the speedway going to pick up a pint of Colorado Koolaid then head for the barn. i must have been smelling pretty ripe even blondie asked me what the h... I fell into. This was well after the sun had set.

Fire in the sky ! last photo before i got home. This single point was the only thing glowing in the sky. it looked like the end of a burning stick.

I have made a circuit around the preserve. When this was taken I was on my way back to where I had parked my car. I intend to head up to the speedway and grab a cup of coffee before heahing home to process the photos.

Got my coffee and am headed home. The only color in the sky is on the clouds we are just a few min from total darkness. it was dark by the time I reached home.

Sunday eve. August 20th. This cloud bank is to the southeast of where I am standing. back to the northwest the sky is a dark gray. We are expecting storms up until thursday.

No eclipse tomorrow for us. I even broke out my 1300 MM lens. The weather guessers say we are going to be socked in overcast as the front moves in. Heavy Overcast.

I have been out running around from one errand to the next. I am on my way into Swanton for the last one. I entered an area where soy beens have been planted and was able to get an open shot of what the sky looked like at the moment.

We had another luminous sunset.. Its dark now and all that remains is the afterglow. Shot this from the stores parking lot.

Just about dark now. Heading toward Swanton from Grand Rapids. With the bridge out at Grand Rapids its about 29 miles.

By the time I got close to swanton everything was a black siloette aginst an orange sky.
