swampgas2 ( read my profile ): WE did have some excitement ! The motor on the red&white crusier konked out and they were starting to drift toward the dam. The O.D.N.R. came and towed them back to the marina.
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Roller.... Imagine hitting this in a kayak ! Speed of the current I would guess somewhere between 30 and 35 mph. Why this is tricky .......it rolls back against the current
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): July 15th. Finally stopped raining! What you are looking at is the top of the sea wall along the river. Notice the water level ! Its at least 15 ft from top of wall to bedrock of the river at this point.
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Pictured above is the top of the seawall-walkway along the river. At normal water level from the top of the walk to water level is 7-ft. Also in the picture is a little ice cream and burger place where I grabed a burger on the way out.

swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Walleye run has started. River is still running fast and some-what high. both banks are devastated by the ice flow ( notice the up-rooted trees behind) but it's not going to stop the hard core fishermen. This was f-8 (fixed) 500 MM

swampgas2 ( read my profile ): South Shoreline of lake Erie. It makes up the Metzgers Marsh area ( public access) and the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge it runs almost all the way to Port Clinton. And In a rare instant Erie's behaving
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Silhouette Fishing Jetty at Metzgers Marsh ( They were catching yellow perch. ) In the back ground on the horizon is West Sister Island part of the national wildlife refuge and then its 54 miles to Canada.

swampgas2 ( read my profile ): I guess you could call this the Town and country edition. Pictured is the oldest bridge in toledo. It is by the fifth- third building.Original was mid 1800 but was soon replaced with the structure you see.
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Hi-level 2nd oldest bridge Started in 1928 during the depression as a works project. This was one of the first types of suspension bridge built. It has recently ungone heavy maintenence.
