swampgas2 ( read my profile ): This is the old Acme Steam Plant it was owned by toledo edison. It produced steam to heat the first buildings in what was downtown toledo. It was built before my mom and dad were around.
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Hi-level 2nd oldest bridge Started in 1928 during the depression as a works project. This was one of the first types of suspension bridge built. It has recently ungone heavy maintenence.
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): I guess you could call this the Town and country edition. Pictured is the oldest bridge in toledo. It is by the fifth- third building.Original was mid 1800 but was soon replaced with the structure you see.
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Not really much to look at. These are the islands that sit on the mudflats at the mouth of Maumee Bay. The water here in places can only be a few inches deep and many small boats have run aground.
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Bayshore Power plant. This is a coal burning plant. It can receive coal via train or boat. There is a boat tied up next to it now. If Obama has his way it's days are numbered. We have 115 days until election day. Then technically we have a new Pres.
swampgas2 ( read my profile ): Veterans Bridge. IN Toledo. This bridge is about 3 to 4 miles long ( not actually sure about the length) but its in the neighborhood of my guess. It cost several billion and a few persons lost their lives building it.
