Shai Coggins:
Hello, Roma! It's rainy. The Trevi Fountain is shut down. There's World Cup fever. Still can't believe I'm sitting here, in a real Italian restaurant in Rome with its cobblestone streets, quaint shops and cafes, incredible ancient architecture... With h

A selfie in a chair lift going up a mountain, at the Seggovia Monte Solaro in Anacapri. Just because. :)
Shai Coggins:
Off to Capri and Anna Capri today...
Shai Coggins:
View from my hotel balcony in Sorrento. Wishing the weather will treat us better. But, if we're going to be stuck indoors, this isn't the worst place in the world. ;)
Shai Coggins:
Arrived in Sorrento, with terrible weather still. But, on the bright side: This amazing hotel! The room I'm staying in is just a small slice of the beauty of this place. Completely blown away.
Shai Coggins:
Street crossing. Learned that four stones on the street mean two-way crossing. Sides of the road protected with extra rocks to protect sidewalks from passing chariots.

Found in the ruins of Pompei.
Shai Coggins:
Learning all about Pompei and its ruins. Mount Vesuvius in the background. With my art tour group (missing Jenny). Amazing to see, as I just watched the movie Pompei (with Kit Harrington) on the plane on the way to Italy.
Shai Coggins:
The Trevi Fountain. Under construction. All lit up at night.
Shai Coggins:
The gorgeous streets of Rome. Got completely soaked walking in the torrential rain. But, my travel companions and I still enjoyed every minute of it. Felt like little kids laughing as we got wetter with every step. Rome isn't giving us pleasant weather bu

Details inside the Santa Maria Maggiore church.
Shai Coggins:
Mosaic floor inside the Basilica Papale Santa Maria Maggiore. A breathtaking church.
Shai Coggins:
Imagine all the stories that this place holds...
Shai Coggins:
At the Roman Forum. Incredible history. Makes you realise how tiny/short our lives are when we see things that have been around for several centuries.
Shai Coggins:
Michelangelo's Moses sculpture.
Shai Coggins:
Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli. First church stop in Rome earlier today. Home of St Peter's Chains relic and Michelangelo's Moses sculpture. Amazing.
Shai Coggins:
Inside the Colosseum. Unbelievable architecture and engineering. Incredible stories. Filled with tourists.
Shai Coggins:
Oh, and I made a new friend. A kitten called Puppy. He seems to like me. :)
Shai Coggins:
Arrived in Chiusi / Tuscany today. Staying in this Artist in Italy villa for the week. Official artist work starts tomorrow but already learning a thing or two today.
Shai Coggins:
Back in Rome for the night. There were jaw-dropping moments inside the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel.
Shai Coggins:
New calligraphy pen, inks, and paper. Made here in Italy. Purchased from Museo dela Carta in Amalfi.
Shai Coggins:
View of Amalfi at sun down, from my hotel room. Last night, we were treated to a 'light show' (the whole town losing electricity then coming back on again), lightning, and fireworks. Tonight, we'll be dining in style for a tour mate's birthday. :)
Shai Coggins:
Where locals and tourists mix, within homes and shops at Amalfi. There were local kids playing hide and seek, driving in their small Fiat cars and Vespas... There were tourists shopping, walking, and taking photos.
