Cootamundra. The railway from Sydney reached here in 1877. The fanciful Gothic station was built in 1884. A branch line east to Gundagai and eventually Tumut opened in 1886. Branch line west to Temora opened in 1893

Cootamundra. The first flourmill opened in 1875. This Conqueror mill was built around 1920. It is still used for stock feed milling.

Galong. The main south railway line to Albury reached here in 1877. The station built then was replaced with this station in 1916 when a branch line was built to Boorowa.
