nikkigunn: I woke up this morning in need of a drive. The rain finally cleared and the blue sky call was too hard to resist.
nikkigunn: My intent was to head south to Half Moon Bay, but I found myself going north instead, up Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
nikkigunn: I stopped to walk through the Olema Marsh--good thing I brought galoshes!
nikkigunn: I guess I missed the hwy1 turn off because suddenly I was driving through Inverness toward Drakes Cove and the Pacific Ocean
nikkigunn: Then, I looked down at my gas tank. I had 1/8th of a tank.
nikkigunn: At last! No one on the beach except me, two german tourists and a bunch of mating seals
nikkigunn: The closest gas station is Pt. Reyes Station about 15 minutes away said the workman
nikkigunn: I made it!! This is the first downward hill toward Pt. Reyes Station. I can coast in...I'm not going to miss my 4:00 meeting...and wow look at the flowering trees!
nikkigunn: Tank now full, I drove up hwy1 toward Tomalas Bay State Park for lunch at an oyster shack
nikkigunn: now this is what I was searching for all day! A place to sit, have lunch and take in a view--i love that all of this is only an hour away
nikkigunn: taking a dip in the bay
nikkigunn: happy cows
nikkigunn: more happy cows
nikkigunn: The landscape was really this saturated in color...and they say the sky in Texas is big!
nikkigunn: On my way home and following a creek that runs along the road in Samuel Taylor State Park
nikkigunn: Ahh, the city! My round about day trip has come to an end. After several wrong turns and short lived bouts of panic, I managed to come home refreshed and inspired!
nikkigunn: I never grow tired of this view. (start the day trip with me a few pictures down or in the Set)
