This sculpture was broken - the right side was exposed to the elements for 2K years, the left side was protected

Lions of Naxos - originally left in place outside, 100 years of being exposed to the elements took their toll, so the statues have been moved into the museum
AllieMark:
Replicas of the Naxian lions (orignials in the museum) - no real lions existed in Greece, so the sculptor must have traveled to find real lions for models
