Saw an awesome sunset shining through an office building across the river with @auraoracle and @lowellpoisson the other day. 2" x 3".

Since the academy was kibd enough to share my piece I thought I would post the full image. This is a drawing of Andrea, one of the long standing models at #NYAA. 27" x20" with just graphite.

Did this anatomical perspective drawing in Grimaldi's class just before school closed for a snow day. Highly schematic, but I wanted to understand how to use this approach before implementing it into my normal process.

Called this one complete tonight, I mostly just wanted my jacket back. This is the result of not having my reference photos for a different project I wanted to work on and forcing myself to be productive. Learned my lesson to always be prepared by walking

Went to John Jacobsmeyer's show for my after class break break. These wood blocks are all cut from the same tree, and make up the huge series of prints he was showing. Time to get back to work.

Never got to posting the final piece. I never found out the model's name, but I know I drew her once back in 2012 and the drawing was equally successful and oddly at #NYAA as well. She's still one of my favorite models. The drawing belongs in an oval fram

The final figure drawing for Michael Grimaldi's class at #NYAA. This was a 3 week pose, but not a very stable one so it was really challenging. Lots of movement. Despite the difficulty it really gave me a chance to get back to constructing the figure more

Back in the land of the sky. Nothing feels more counter intuitive than flying to colder weather in the winter. It feels good to be home for the holidays though.

#12 The space shuttle connected to the ISS. This was the last one for my assignment, though I suspect I will continue to be doing these for quite some time.

#6 Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. If you hadn't heard, ESA's recently landed a spacecraft on a comet. High five humanity.

#5 A portrait of the first American spacewalk. Fully equipped with a zip gun for maneuvering in zero gravity.

#4 Astronaut repairing humanity's third eye. Another Hubble piece. I'm behind in posting these, I'll post a few today.

Got a bit done on my ecorche tonight. I love my structural anatomy class. Prior to coming to school this was a huge selling point on going to nyaa. Nothing more awesome than making people inside out from scratch.

Yesterday was just way too good. After the Steven Assael master class and watching some of Beth Cavener Stichters demo we got to go to @jeanpierreroy 's studio for some beer and pizza. Got to check out some of his new stuff for Art Basel and his older wor

Day two of the Steven Assael master class @nyacademyofart. Yesterday was the insanely entertaining demo and today we paint.

My other figure drawing from last week's pose. Was really happy to get an extra drawing in by finishing early. Looking forward to Monday to keep working on my next one.

Day one of two, grisaille finished up. Really happy with how this came out. Color comes next week.

Watching @willcottonnyc demo for his master class @nyacademyofart. So awesome to finally see him paint in person!

I love figure drawing. Always makes me excited for Mondays. New model for another four week pose starts tomorrow. I managed to finish this one in three weeks and squeezed a small drawing in for the final week. Graphite and colored pencil on strathmore.
