The wildflower-filled valleys are proof that California finally made it out of the 5 year long drought! 🌷🌹🌻🌼

Some days I just want to become really, really good at my craft. Like this 90-year old man who has been fishing with traditional Chinese methods his entire life. A great example of someone who has perfected their craft.

PSA: This is the best time of year to visit Northern California, one of the most beautiful places in the country. After all, it's where our emojis come from! 🌄🌅🌁🌉🌆🌃

Another shot from my LA trip taken at nearly the highest point in the city. ☀️

My friend (and co-worker) is colorblind. So the office pitched in to buy special glasses that change the color spectrum, allowing him to see color. Yesterday we visited Mt. Tam. where, for the first time, he was able to see an orange sunset 🌅

I'm a sucker for cable cars. I took a ride on this one, above London, a few weeks ago. 🚠☀️

From east to west coast as one of my best friends overlooks the Pacific for the first time.

Somewhere in the middle of California we pulled the car over to admire the golden, rolling hills. 🌄🚁

We felt like American explorers while walking through the reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone as a cold front rolled in.

My favorite part of the Perseids meteor shower was when shooting stars would jet behind the cut-outs of Double Arch.
joshuasortino:
Stayed up all night watching shooting stars until the sun rose above Canyonlands.

A while back I spotted this guy riding through the fog. I can't think of many roads more scenic than the California 1.

Napa is the most interesting place in California. Each winery has its own personality. I'm a sucker for modern architecture so Artesa wins my favorite choice. If find yourself in San Francisco with a day to spare, make your way to Napa!

It was too foggy to photograph fireworks so we drove down the coast. I put the drone up before I noticed these guys putting on a show. 🐳

Death Valley often reaches summer temperatures of 120 °F. Just imagine how intense horseback riding through these territories would have been 150 years ago.

Time to break my short hiatus with this archive photo of Point Reyes. And for everyone who has been asking, my photos will be for sale at sortinophotos.com on Tuesday. (I skipped any photo trips just so I could finish the site for you!)

25 miles down remote roads and unmarked paths, in the Mojave, you can find this lava tube. At the right time of day, the cave becomes something magical.
joshuasortino:
I put on my boots this morning and they still had some sand from the Mojave. We were worried about missing sunset, so we kept running up the dunes. This sunset was our reward.

I have a new favorite place. Follow the adventure on Snapchat: joshuasortino

Have you ever had one of those dreams where you could fly? Where you could control what happens and there is no limit to what is possible? I found a similar place, but it's not a dream. -- I'm still working on getting my products online. I want to make
