This morning I white-knuckled our gutless 4-cylinder Xtrail pulling a 3500 lb trailer up a 25% switchback in the pouring rain. I had one shot to downshift on the last turn without stalling or we'd end up jackknifing backwards into the St Lawrence. Stress-

Fun fact: contrary to most ski resorts, at Massif everyone parks at the summit and then skis down 770m towards the frozen St. Lawrence. It's the highest vertical drop east of the Canadian Rockies.

There are only 5 cars in the parking lot and we brought 2 of them. The slopes are like white-asphalt. The season is done.
