R.C. Allen was a major luthier here in Los Angeles. He built over 1,000 guitars and over 400 banjos, all in his lap.....no bench. He was known for his incredible archtop guitars. I was recently honored to finish his very last guitar...a flattop acoustic.

This 1964 Rickenbacker model 325 Rose Morris came in for restoration of the original circuit. They didn't make very many of these and they're very collectible. Fortunately, most of the components are original except for the wiring. These 3 pickup guitars

According to Rick Turner, this 1968 Guild Bass started it all. Guild made this bass for Phil Lesh of The Grateful Dead. But Phil decided to hand it over to Rick after seeing the custom work Rick was up to. In 1969 Rick did all the modifications.

In 1963, this 1959 Les Paul was just another used guitar. So when the owner decided he wanted to paint it red, he just took a can of spray paint and went for it....even removing the serial number. Now I've got to restore it....not so easy.
