R.C. Allen was a major luthier here in Los Angeles. He built over 1,000 guitars and over 400 banjos, all in his lap.....no bench. He was known for his incredible archtop guitars. I was recently honored to finish his very last guitar...a flattop acoustic.

Zemaitis guitars were very popular in the '60s and are known for their artistic design and great jumbo tone. This guitar was built by British luthier Tony Zemaitis in 1977. The company was sold to Japanese company Greco in 2010. neelyguitars.com

Okay, so this 2014 Martin 00018E was a victim of the recent storms and flooding. It needed a complete bleaching and refinish, electronics repaired, bridge removal, and a new pickguard. The owner says it sounds better than it did before the damage.

I met Bill Lawrence in 1975 while trying out amps at the Music Barn in Nashville. This big German dude walks over and tells me Gibson is moving to Nashville and he was the lead man for Gibson Guitars. I told him this was crazy talk and I don’t believe it

It's rampant.....buying your dream guitar online only to find out the pickups are not original. Then, the seller refuses to reimburse claiming it wasn't this way when he shipped it. Now it's in court.
