Neely Guitars: Another great Gretsch Guitar in for the onceover. This time a Brian Setzer model.
Neely Guitars: Well, when somebody grinds down the saddle to get super low action and then it frets out, then somebody will fill the slot with garbage to get out of trouble....so juvenile.
Neely Guitars: Okay, so this 2014 Martin 00018E was a victim of the recent storms and flooding. It needed a complete bleaching and refinish, electronics repaired, bridge removal, and a new pickguard. The owner says it sounds better than it did before the damage.
Neely Guitars: I met Bill Lawrence in 1975 while trying out amps at the Music Barn in Nashville. This big German dude walks over and tells me Gibson is moving to Nashville and he was the lead man for Gibson Guitars. I told him this was crazy talk and I don’t believe it
Neely Guitars: This classic 1967 Gretsch Country Gentleman is holding up well over the years. The binding is fairly intact and after my corrections and adjustments it’s restored to wonderful playability.
Neely Guitars: One of my favorite clients is singer/songwriter Colin Devlin from Dublin…..we’re both Irish! Here I’m upgrading his Martin for upcoming sessions.
Neely Guitars: This 1957 Hofner Club 40 is extremely rare. It’s just like the one that George Harrison played and a duplicate was used by John Lennon. It’s in perfect condition and has held up well over the years. It did need some action corrections and flat wound strin
Neely Guitars: I like the Duesenberg line of guitars and hardware. Here I'm about to install their new LesTrem on this SG. It simply replaces the stop tailpiece with no modification to the guitar.
Neely Guitars: It's rampant.....buying your dream guitar online only to find out the pickups are not original. Then, the seller refuses to reimburse claiming it wasn't this way when he shipped it. Now it's in court.
Neely Guitars: Wow, thru the years I've had so many wonderful repeat clients.....love it!
Neely Guitars: Here's another Guild Starfire Bass with the pickups Phil Lesh liked so much. Signed by Phil showing his approval!
Neely Guitars: I love this homemade refin on this Squire Strat. The beige and brown look great together. I've just finished the setup and corrections....sounds and plays great.
Neely Guitars: The fabulous Tosin Abasi is back for some corrections to his newest guitar. What a great player.
Neely Guitars: This wonderful Yamamoto Baritone Guitar is just so amazing after my corrections.
Neely Guitars: Thank you all for the wonderful Happy Birthday wishes. I'm back at my celebration station the Ca Del Sole in Toluca Lake and looking forward to a great year. The number 72=9 and 9 is a lucky number in Thai culture.
Neely Guitars: The Arctic Monkeys are a great band and I’m just about finished with the neck reset on this old Gretsch for Alex Turner. neelyguitars.com
Neely Guitars: This 1964 Rickenbacker model 325 Rose Morris came in for restoration of the original circuit. They didn't make very many of these and they're very collectible. Fortunately, most of the components are original except for the wiring. These 3 pickup guitars
Neely Guitars: My good friend Zak Starkey is back with a few more recent purchases and corrections. Not only is he the drummer for the Who, Ringo’s son, and mentored by Keith Moon, but he's also an incredible guitarist. This 1959 LPJr has one of the best P-90s.
Neely Guitars: Benedetto
Neely Guitars: Another custom build for new client John Pighetti. This time a Baritone Telecaster with all the latest technology on Earth.
Neely Guitars: Here's that badass 1961 Gibson ES-335 in for evaluation.....excellent condition.
Neely Guitars: 1959 Martin D-18E
Neely Guitars: This is an original Guild Bass and signed by Phil Lesh many years ago.
Neely Guitars: Nashville was always a town of big body electric guitars...Gretsches, Byrdlands, Super 400s, 225s, 335s, etc. I just finished the restoration on this fabulous 1962 Chet Atkins....love it.
Neely Guitars: Voyage LA Magazine
Neely Guitars: Who doesn't love a Firebird. Here I'm blueprinting this Firebird for a Gibson Vibrola tailpiece. The next time you see this guitar, it will be Ferrari Yellow...with the wardrobe to match....yes. neelyguitars.com
Neely Guitars: This 1964 Fender King Acoustic was from the Fender reaction to the folk movement in the early '60s. They had so many problems they were taken off the market....later reintroduced as the Kingman with the same issues. This one oddly enough is quite good.
Neely Guitars: Here's Cowboy Kevin Coppola checking out my work and making this Gibson 335 look a bit tiny. neelyguitars.com
Neely Guitars: I know the beat up, knocked around, chained to a car, recreated relics are very popular with the kids now. But this 1974 Strat is not one of those mock versions. This took over 45 years of gigs...quite the style nowadays. neelyguitars.com
Neely Guitars: Here's another of my many new clients Adam Kobylarz. Adam recently brought in all the parts I would need to turn his Strat into a Baritone and it's a monster. neelyguitars.com
