emptychairs: Saigon's power and telephone lines were even worse than Hanoi. They just seem to string them up on top of each other.
emptychairs: We had lunch at Lạc Thuận in Huế. Ngọc, the owner, hostess, waitress, and chef, was born deaf and mute. She now reads lips in both English and Vietnamese. Her grandparents started a restaurant in Huế in 1954 (which is still open), and now she has
emptychairs: We also went to the war remnants museum, which was very sad. I'm still not sure what we were ever doing over there, and it's a shame so many people on all sides gave their lives for nothing.
