donosborn: Ended up at St Nicholas brewing at the Southern IL Airport. This Black IPA was nice. Even had another the next day.

donosborn: a lady who works for the airport said I could park here with some RVs for the night. I even had access to a bathroom. I slept in the van.

donosborn: This was my 3rd try trying to find some local place for breakfast. Well, 4th really if you include the aborted pancake breakfast attempt at the airport. Another spot was too busy. Another one did not exist. So I started walking around and stumbled upon

donosborn: I was told that the airport was going to be super busy because people were literally flying in to watch the eclipse. Carbondale was in the center of the path of totality, and it had this private airport.

donosborn: sat in the shade here until it got closer then moved across the street where you see that blue sign to the upper right.

donosborn: my cameras did not do a great job of capturing the special moment. ha.

donosborn: what was interesting to see with the special glasses is that even if like 2% of the sun was showing, a tiny fingernail, it was still almost as bright as normal.
