Step Six: I then mount it on a block with some foam double sided tape as this helps give a smooth impression if you stamp on an uneven surface. I also test stamp it a few times so I know it works. One of these goes to the customer and the other goes in my

And it comes out virtually clear. They do go red again after a while but they are permanently set and will make thousands of impressions. #process #howtomakeapolymerstamp

Step Six: it's back under the light for two minutes to go completely hard. It's in a dish of water to help this process. #process #howtomakeapolymerstamp

Step Five: wash off the in-set polymer with soap and water. You can see the design through the soap. This one is very small. I really thought it might not work. #process #howtomakeapolymerstamp

Step Four: first and second hardening. First for 6 seconds sets the back of the pack. Second for 1 minute 40 sets the image. My old kit used to take 30 minutes to do this bit. #process #howtomakeapolymerstamp

Step Three: load up the artwork and gel pack in the clamp to keep them in place and straight. #process #howtomakeapolymerstamp

Step Two: check artwork. This bit involves the correct alignment of the two bits of film. My printer doesn't print quite black enough so I print two and line them up. Harder to get right but less wasteful in the long run. This artwork will be a challenge

Step One: prep. I make sure all the kit is nearby. The whole process takes 3mins and 46secs under the light box so it's best to have everything at hand.
