tom.mac: As I passed by, this tussock of Molinia caerulea (Purple Moor Grass) caught my eye~probably outstanding because of it's large size & wonderful autumn color.

tom.mac: A more unusual Autumn take of the rare Schoenus ferrugineus (Brown Bog Rush) amongst the seasonal orange of the Molinia caerulea (Purple Moor Grass)~on the lower slopes of Ben Vrackie.

tom.mac: On passing by I could not resist a wee look at the rather special & rare Issler's Clubmoss (Diphasiastrum complanatum subsp. issleri) near to Sandy Hillock [the common Fir Clubmoss is also featured].

tom.mac: A splendid looking Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia)~with a splendid Ben Vrackie outlook, you can even see the very popular botanical hot-spot on Vrackie with magnification.
tom.mac: Spot the Polygonatum verticillatum (Whorled Solomon's Seal), not all sites in Perthshire fare so well, many are in unfavorable condition and declining~this small population is at a location on the banks of the River Lyon.
tom.mac: Creag na Eighe~a place dear to me on two accounts; firstly as a rock climbing venue & secondly for its Rock Whitebeam trees which can be seen alongside the Rowans with their red foliage.
tom.mac: Sorbus rupicola (Rock Whitebeam) at Creag na Eighe with Rowan along the top of the cliffs high above Strathtay. Six Rock Whitebeam exist here.
