Started of our 5 weeks in Montreal with dinner at our favorite restaurant, Mon Lapin. We had delicious halibut (from the Gaspé) and pork shoulder. We practically inhaled the stuffed squash blossoms (crunchy and flavorful). The haricot verts were perfect.

Place d'Armes in Old Montreal on a sunny Friday afternoon. Musicians play under the trees on the left. Tourists take selfies with Maisonneuve atop his monument. Stonemasons work on repairing one of the spires (1841) on the Basilica de Notre Dame.

It's strawberry season in Quebec and this fresh strawberry juice at Le Pain Perdu in #Montreal is a delicious slice of heaven. @aupainperdu

Delicious late breakfast at Au Pain Perdu on the plateau. French toast (pain perdu) and an incredibly flavorful omelette. We just stumbled upon this spot on our walk along Mont Royal today. We will be back. .

Montreal has “pedestrianized” a number of streets this summer making them fun and easy for walkers and bicyclists. Restaurant terraces spille onto the street and whimsical sitting areas provide rest stops. Today we took the metro up to Mont Royal and walk

The HMCS Glace Bay was open for tours today in the old Port of Montreal as part of the Canadian Armed Forces Great Lake Deployment 2022. The ship is visiting 7 ports from Hamilton, ON to Rimouski, QC.

Perfect spot in the Old Port of Montreal on a hot afternoon (yes, it's hot...not Florida hot... but pretty darn hot). At the ponds between the Promenade du Vieux Port and Rue de la Commune with the Pointe-a-Calliere museum in the center background. Happy

Afternoon shopping at Marché Jean Talon. Sweet sweet strawberries, fresh corn off the truck, warm bread, good cheese, and we found some flowering cauliflower! #ourhappyplace

Lunch at Butterblume today. Smoked salmon with fresh sweet peas and fish roe in a bowl and a mix poached egg, fried panchetta, grilled bell pepper/zucchini, yogurt, sunflower seeds, and spring greens on a grilled slab of sourdough bread. Yummers.
