About half way around our block our neighbors have a morning glory vine underneath the shade of their huge yew tree. It makes for a nice rest stop for Jerry as he works up his post-surgery stamina with daily walks.

Watching the Bucs v 49ers game with my Captain Jack. I swear he hears the NFL theme music and comes running to my lap!.

Jerry took a walk around the block this morning. His first since the operation. He did great!! Yahoo.

This is what 17 days post cardiac bypass surgery looks like! Happy to be home. Onward and upward! @jbaesel
abaesel:
This couldn't have arrived at a better time. After 2 hurricanes and a husband getting a successful bypass surgery all within 1 months time, I really need a little Louise Penny and Three Pines.

My neighbor's tree in the Old Northeast neighborhood in St Pete. Two and a half weeks after Hurricane Milton. Battered a bit but refusing to miss blooming!

Jason, Jerry, and me tonight downtown at Sea Salt. Jerry checks in to Bayfront tomorrow for his cardiac adventure!

Rhino down. Rodney, our favorite neighborhood rhino, took a tumble during Milton. But thankfully his smart owners had tethered him with a rope so he didn’t go far. He’ll be back, just like our Old Northeast neighborhood. #stpete #miltin @rhinooncoffeepot

Still no power at home. But hotel is good. And restaurants are opening up. Late breakfast at Cassis.

Surrounded by hundreds of utility trucks, semis, and gas tankers (supplying gas to all those truck and semis), my wounded, down but not out, much beloved home to Rays Baseball, the Tropicana Dome rises above St Pete. My heart aches to see it in tatters bu

Whose dat? Jack discovered the full length mirror on the hotel room door...in the middle of the night. Had quite the conversation. #milton
abaesel:
We've prepped our home as best we can. Took a photo and headed to our hurricane home, the AC hotel in downtown St Pete. Absolutely exhausted. But cats are doing okay and staff was EXTREMELY helpful and cheerful. Now we wait.
abaesel:
Took time out during hurricane preparations to drop off our ballots at the Board Of Elections in downtown St Pete. #voteblue

Lunch with my sweetie at Bazille (Nordstrom) at Tampa’s International Mall yesterday. Got in a 1.5 mile walk too.

Heartfelt love for our city, on the corner of Cordova Blvd and Snell Isle Blvd on Snell Isle.

Life at the moment around town in St Pete. Fire trucks rushing to yet another call related to gas odors or electrical fires, signals still out, and trucks hauling away appliances from flooded homes. #helene
