_JFR_: 007 I arrived at the San Bernardino Peak Trailhead parking lot in Angeles Oaks, CA about 7am, at 6000 feet elevation
_JFR_: 013 The San Bernardino Peak Trail begins climbing immediately and there are occasional views through the trees
_JFR_: 020 At the lower elevations the San Bernardino Peak Trail heads though a lovely mixed Oak and Pine forest - very peaceful
_JFR_: 024 The San Gorgonio Wilderness begins when the San Bernardino Peak Trail reaches 7000 feet elevation
_JFR_: 027 As the trail climbs, the views open up to the west, and the San Gariel Mountains appear in the distance
_JFR_: 033 Across the way is Slide Peak (7841 feet elevation) which is quite a landmark on the San Bernardino Peak Trail
_JFR_: 039 As I hiked higher, the oaks were left behind, and the forest became dominated by pine trees
_JFR_: 046 Off to the southwest was Santiago Peak (Saddleback) which seems to be part of the view from most peaks in LA
_JFR_: 047 Zoomed-in view of Ontario, Bighorn, Cucamonga, Timber, Telegraph Peak, West Baldy, Baldy, and Harwood Peaks
_JFR_: 053 After the initial 1500 feet of switchbacks, the San Bernardino Peak Trail begins to head inland through the forest
_JFR_: 058 After two hours of hiking I was finally able to see San Bernardino Peak from the trail
_JFR_: 065 Once on the ridge, the San Bernardino Peak Trail breaks free of the forest and travels across manzanita and chinquapin
_JFR_: 068 It was nice to be out in the open, but the sun was hot and I kept hiking uphill along the San Bernardino Peak Trail
_JFR_: 071 The views north are quite fine from the San Bernardino Peak Trail
_JFR_: 076 It felt good to enter the shady forest again, but I knew it wouldn't last
_JFR_: 080 San Bernardino Peak comes into view once again as the ridge flattens out
_JFR_: 083 Zoomed-in view of San Bernardino Peak - that green patch shows the location of Limber Pine Spring
_JFR_: 086 Hiking across the long ridgetop at 8000 feet on the San Bernardino Peak Trail - at least it was flat!
_JFR_: 091 Zoomed-in view of the Perris Reservoir from the San Bernardino Peak Trail
_JFR_: 096 It took me almost three hours to reach the John's Meadow Trail junction on the San Bernardino Peak Trail
_JFR_: 107 There were spots along the San Bernardino Peak Trail which needed some maintenance, to cut back the chinquapin
_JFR_: 108 Panorama video from the San Bernardino Peak Trail from just above the John's Meadow Trail junction
_JFR_: 110 Panorama view west over San Bernardino and LA, with Mount Baldy in the far distance
_JFR_: 116 Panorama view over the Santa Ana River Valley from the San Bernardino Peak Trail
_JFR_: 125 Another panorama shot looking north toward Big Bear (just beyond that long ridge) from the San Bernardino Peak Trail
_JFR_: 135 Panorama view of Mount Baldy and Slide Peak from the San Bernardino Peak Trail
_JFR_: 138 After four hours of hiking, I finally made it to the Limber Pine Bench backpackers campground - Whew!
_JFR_: 139 I headed out onto Limber Pine Bench to choose a good campsite - I was the only one there and had choices
_JFR_: 142 There was a bit of a breeze out of the west so I decided to camp in the lee of this big outcropping at Limber Pine Bench
_JFR_: 147 My tent and campsite at Limber Pine Bench on the San Bernardino Peak Trail with a great view to the west over LA
