I'm having trouble keying this out. It's done blooming, the picture was taken June 29. I'm not even sure how to define the leaves ... I'm an amateur ... but they are finely cut and remind me of some chamomiles. But of course the flowers are something else

Epifagus americana, beech drops. Parasitic to beech tree roots. I wonder who discovered that? They grow quite far out from the trunk, not obviously associated with the beech. JBWS
