Ha! Caught red-pawed! I was wondering why the nuts were disappearing so quickly and suspected someone had broken in!

No... we have the best view on our side of the building #brooklynbridge #sunset #nofilterneeded
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 5: they're so big now you can see them eat. The dinky one is still clinging to the lid.
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 6: three are quite big and you can see them eating, one is a bit dinky and bit white. They're all hairy and have shed skin.
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 9: three are lively and very interested in the lid already, two are crawling around the bottom
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 10: there are now three chrysalides but only one is hanging up properly. One has fallen down, another did but is suspended by webbing. Two more caterpillars are hanging from the lid, ready to cocoon themselves.
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 12: a joint family effort to move the chrysalides from the tub into the habitat. Turns out they've eaten through the paper on the lid! Tricky job too as two were caught in webbing and one had to be scooped up with a spoon!
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 13: only three are clinging to the paper, one had to be cut free from webbing and was put on a paper towel too. Actually, we should move that closer to the side... Now we wait.
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 15: still waiting, and we moved the two on the bottom to the side a bit, as they're meant to be 4cm from the side

Scooter spiders. They form a ball (left) and when you blow on them (thanks, Henry!) they start running off (right)
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 18: Two have hatched. :) One tried and didn't make it. :( Still waiting for two more.
jn2n:
#Butterflies day 19: the remaining two have hatched, now there are four. Here's one feeding on a flower, you can see his long tongue in it.
