Ham House ,Surrey built in 1610 -in 1900 by this time owned by the Earls of Dysart .Ballast was found on their land in large quantities.They allowed it to be excavated ,and got the revenue .The ‘HAM RIVER’ grit co Ltd started work here in 1904.

This was Ham -pits in 1944 ,the Thames to the left ,three lots of concrete barges ,ready for the invasion ,it was said that parts of the Mullberry harbour were stored here also.
