RyanWelsh:
Malayan Tapir. Designed by me. My submission for Origami Tanteidan Convention Book 25. Folded from 24cm black kami.
RyanWelsh:
Praying Mantis Base by Kota Imai - it needed some serious manipulation of Oripa but this base doesn’t even show half the genius Imai San is. The design is asymmetrical and extremely hard to collapse. Still attempting.
RyanWelsh:
I don’t think I ever designed an diagrammed a model this fast. Wanted to have it done before I leave to Japan next week.
RyanWelsh:
Lobster. Draft. Yes the legs are still somewhat short but making them longer is impossible since this would ruin the base completely. Thinning the body did make the legs look longer.
RyanWelsh:
‘Sign’ by Satoshi Kamiya (神谷哲史). Kamiya San posted this on his Twitter-account. Does anyone know what this sign/logo is for? Googleing it did not result in anything. Nice (and rather complex!) excercise in two colors.

RyanWelsh:
Caucasus Beetle by Kota Imai (wrong paper used, test fold, not prepared or shaped well) and behind it a real life species similar to it: an Atlas Beetle (only difference is a small horn that is more of a stump with an Atlas Beetle)
RyanWelsh:
I love asymmetric models. This Racoon by Morisawa Aoto (森澤碧人) is really something. The tail comes from the upper edge. The legs mainly from the lower left side and the symmetry axis: there is non in the CP. Purpose is to have a fully closed back.
RyanWelsh:
Fullmoon Maple by Seishi Kasumi (霞誠志). Extremely intricate design with many steps of precreasing and a 10-sided symmetry.
RyanWelsh:
Kirkaldyia deyrollei by Kota Imai (今井幸太) Hopefully Imai san will publish a book someday although his models seem hard to diagram...
