Alfred Fartknocker: When Leuchars was an active RAF station, they kept some W&R on site. XV582/ M was an ex 111 Sqn Phantom FG.1 that eventually moved to the Air Museum at St.Athan. She was known as 'Black Mike'.

Alfred Fartknocker: I saw these flying, but it seems like a long time ago these days. By 2013 this Lightning F.3, XR713/ C was already a relic at Leuchars. It went to Brunters when 111 Sqn moved out and Leuchars closed.
Alfred Fartknocker: Anyone who's seen the 1969 film 'Battle of Britain' has seen this Hispano HA-1112 in 'action'. It's a Spanish built Bf 109 but fitted with a Rolls-Royce Merlin. It flies in the UK as G-BWUE but was G-AWHK in the movie.
Alfred Fartknocker: The Swiss AF have operated these PC-6 Porters- now Turbo Porters, since about 1959- although this is a 1967 model, built with a piston engine. Here V-614 lands at Dubendorf 12 years ago. It continues in service- and as good as new.
