Wyowanderer: I found this at a second hand sporting goods store today, it's a Coleman 288A. It's sitting atop my old Hallicrafters S-38E shortwave radio.
Wyowanderer: This was my dad's lantern, and now it's mine. It's a Coleman 242B single mantle. I'm going to swap out the nice antique globe (hard to replace) with a cheap chinese globe and take it camping. This lantern was made in July of 1940.
Wyowanderer: Sitting on the Hallicrafters radio.
Wyowanderer: Pic of the box, before I opened it.
Wyowanderer: Isn't it pretty? I think this model is referred to as a "diamond" stove.
Wyowanderer: Cute little temp gauge...
Wyowanderer: Here's where the cookies go...
Wyowanderer: The instruction sheet. Look close and you'll see that it was printed 5/61. Fifty years ago.
Wyowanderer: From the side. The little rods hold the top and bottom together.
Wyowanderer: Detail of the top logo.
Wyowanderer: My father used to do business with this company: they're no longer around, but I hve fond memories of the grumpy old guy who ran it.
Wyowanderer: Side view.
Wyowanderer: The front-ish view
Wyowanderer: The control panel. Nice and simple.
Wyowanderer: Hats off indoors! A view of the door fully open
Wyowanderer: The gaping maw of the fridge.
Wyowanderer: Ready for business
