William Naylor: Ruins of Knossos with Arthur Evans reworking.
William Naylor: Quint and fresco/painting at Knossos.
William Naylor: The home the olds rented for our stay.
William Naylor: Jim jumps in the pool, something he did almost relentlessly over the two weeks.
William Naylor: The view east from our home, showing off Crete quite impressive terrain. On the power lines is a turtle dove, from 'Twelve Days of Christmas' (a song) fame.
William Naylor: Sheep roaming about the hills (goats were about too, but they sought the sade of our cars) on our day trip to Agnion (ish).
William Naylor: Plants must have a tough life here, as it was very exposed and arid.
William Naylor: Our quite stunning destination.
William Naylor: We found some sea beast on the beach. Same spot as previously mentioned.
William Naylor: The younger generations of Naylor males.
William Naylor: The next quite a few are from a hike through the Samarian gorge. Just an epic walk, although the transport options from the far end were pretty lacking.
William Naylor: The family descends.
William Naylor: Ben and Chris keeping Quinty on track.
William Naylor: This little guy was sunning in a little clearing with a couple of horses and a could of greek men. Quite the poser too.
William Naylor: Jim was massively excited about the prospects of catching a lizard from this point on.
William Naylor: Ben blesses us lowly heathens.
William Naylor: We found a family of Kri Kri, a native (ish) Cretan goat which were very inquisitive. Kri Kri are symbol of crete, and I read that not many people have seen one, but it seems a little hard to believe.
William Naylor: Rory trying his luck.
William Naylor: On of the two kids.
William Naylor: A photo just terrible enough to make me laugh.
William Naylor: And the Samaria gorge itself is woth a photo too. Really there was a lot of quite stunning view to be had.
William Naylor: A European Jay visited us just near the end of the walk.
William Naylor: June, Crete, the family
William Naylor: I tried my best with an 18-55 mm lens and my sisters camera to catch the barn swallows that would splash down onto our pool presumably picking off insects.
William Naylor: Similar to the previous photo, a difficult picture to take. This is a bat that lived inside our house for three days and came out in the evening and flew about the room. Just amazing.
William Naylor: Jim and Chris on our short snorkelling expedition.
William Naylor: A nice shot by Ysra of a local keeping it real. This is roughly in the centre of Chania.
William Naylor: Something of the atmosphere of the trip as I saw it. Half tourists, half just a bunch of yokels laughing at themselves.
