Step 1-Start with 4 5" charm squares

Step 2 : cut all charms on the same angle.

Step 3 - All charms are cut into two pieces like this.

Step 5: Now you have 4 squares - each one has one of each "pattern" or color.

Step 6: Lay them out for the final piecing.

Step 8: press the two halves open and put them down so you know they are in the right order.

Step 9: Match up the outer borders.

Step 10: Block is assembled. Notice how uneven the outer borders are.

Step 11: Use your square up ruler - mine is 8 1/2"
