Amazon Rainforest Trek: Bolivia, 3 weeks. Album cover, 200 photos.
Greg James Wade:
The beginning of a 21 day trek in Bolivia, leaving the town of Rurrenabaque with Silverio (guide), Justino (porter) and Tomba (cook).
Greg James Wade:
The picturesque peccary pools of the rainforest, the equivalent of a beach to a pig
Greg James Wade:
I'm a pig, I'm a pig, I'm a pig ...

Greg James Wade:
For the trek in Peru I slept in a hammock. In Bolivia the men build a shelter on the ground each afternoon using small trees, vines and plastic tarps. I hang a mosquito net, lay down a blanket and settle in for the night.
Greg James Wade:
In addition Tomba the cook builds a kitchen daily (food off the ground @ right)

Justino settles in

On day two Silverio kills a large male peccary (40kg). These pigs have long, sharp and protruding teeth and are dangerous to hunt -- for man and jaguar.

Red howler monkeys investigate our tribe. Howlers are incredible to listen to (see links), like supernatural wraiths haunting the forest.

Greg James Wade:
For plants the rule of thumb in the rainforest is if you see a monkey eat it then you can eat it
