I detour off highway AB-93 to drive AB-11, not expecting to find Abraham Lake so pretty. An artificial lake and Alberta's largest reservoir, it takes the blue color of other glacial lakes in the area.

Camping by Abraham Lake. To my surprise there are two official free campgrounds, plus a handful of unmarked gravel roads with many other camping spots. Here is where I spend my first night.

The campsites at Abraham Lake have no services. Here is a type of toilet I've never seen before, allowing you to look into the eyes of a grizzly bear as you poop yourself.

While trekking Mount Edith Cavell (3363m) I walk by three Marmots, a type of large squirrel. All three allow me to get close to them, though I did not get to hear their unique whistle. Look at that luxurious fur coat!
