The woods are full of amazing mushrooms, and the closer you look, the more you see. Nobody would have a hard time missing this one, though: a nearly 2-foot tall Sulpher Shelf polypore is so colorful and bright it practically glows.

Birding in the fall can be a challenge (which is part of what makes it fun)! The birds are obscured by large leaves, are often in the shade of dense foliage, and are not very colorful or distinctively marked, since they are no longer in breeding plumage.
