You can still climb to the top of the Uluru. But this pratice will be closed in the near future to respect the wishes of the Pitjantjatjara Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area.

The desert has more vegetation than I previously thought. But it seems it rained some months ago and so maybe that's the reason? Some guide told us one story about the time it didn't rain for 11 years!!!
