prairieskygal:
She said she usually cried at least once each day not because she was sad, but because the world was so beautiful & life was so short.
prairieskygal:
I have heard some beautiful notes in my life,
prairieskygal:
Day 45/365: without love
prairieskygal:
places where the light & rain get in with no regard for your virtues or reputation
prairieskygal:
I was waiting for such a long time, she said. I thought you forgot. It's hard to forget, I said, when there is such an empty space when you are gone.
prairieskygal:
this is a window into the stuff that goes on behind what we think about it
prairieskygal:
I tell stories for very good reasons, she said, but I'm not going to tell you what they are or you'd start reading too much into them
prairieskygal:
Day 58/365: Everything comes around
prairieskygal:
Today all I could remember was the way your body held the ocean of my self & for a moment there was only one us in all creation.
prairieskygal:
It's hardest to love the ordinary things, she said, but you get lots of opportunities to practice.
prairieskygal:
I'm not sure how it's going to turn out, except I'll die in the end, she said. So, really, what could go wrong?
prairieskygal:
Day 60/365: it always takes him a little while to get used to being in this body after he's been sleeping
prairieskygal:
When I first met him, I knew in a moment I would have to spend the next few days re-arranging my mind so there'd be room for him to stay.
prairieskygal:
I've always liked the time before dawn because there's no one around to remind me who I'm supposed to be, so it's easier to remember who I am
prairieskygal:
I like this place best by moonlight, she told me. During the day, it just looks like dirt.
prairieskygal:
This is the wind what blows, he said, & it lives in a jar in my bed & his eyes were big with the knowing of all that.
prairieskygal:
I moved a lot when I was young & I still ache a bit at the thought of all those autumns in new & unfamiliar landscapes.
prairieskygal:
He loved her for almost everything she was & she decided that was enough to let him stay for a very long time.
prairieskygal:
Day 67/365: even though they look like they're flying south, they're really stuck right here with the rest of us for the winter
prairieskygal:
Day 68/365: Time stands still best in moments that look suspiciously like ordinary life.
prairieskygal:
Day 73/365: he followed the sun & she followed the stars & in dreams they listened closely for the beginning of all things, for that was where they knew they'd find each other
prairieskygal:
likes her body a lot, especially the way she can fling it all around in all sorts of directions & it still stays connected in one piece
prairieskygal:
Day 76/365: Crawling in to a large hole without any idea where it leads, but she knows where she's at right now & it can't get any worse
prairieskygal:
Day 78/365: They don't have very long memories, so every morning seems like a miracle.
prairieskygal:
She laid on my chest & her breathing filled me almost to beyond what I could hold.
prairieskygal:
Day 80/365: this is a picture of a mythical creature
prairieskygal:
Are you a princess?
prairieskygal:
Ustrasana
prairieskygal:
Day 81/365: You see me better than I am, she said & I'm worried what'll happen when your vision changes
prairieskygal:
Day 82/365: Her hair's on fire in the hot sun & there's no other sound in her head other than its slow, soft burning
