We managed to dodge some of the rain and climb up the hill to visit Marksburg. This was the view down to the Rhein.

It's chanterelle season! Here is last night's pork steaks with chanterelles in sauce with homemade spätzle. 😋

The rain hasn't stopped all day. We threw on rain ponchos and hiked up to Burg Rheinfels (well, its ruins) and then continued on to Loreleyblick.

We went for a hike this afternoon from Bacharach, taking the RheinBurgenWeg to the ruins of Burg Fürstenberg. We had the ruins to ourselves!

Goodbye, Bacharach! Victor Hugo wrote that this is one of the oldest and prettiest towns in the world. He wasn't wrong.
