Staci G: This turkey sits on my table throughout November each year.
Staci G: Thanksgiving - From Left to Right - Kim (My childhood friend since I was five), Tyler, My Dad, Eric, Grant, Mark (Kim's husband), Barb (Kim's Mom), and Bill. I took the picture - of course!
Staci G: Second try. We wanted to see Tyler's little face.
Staci G: The cottage cheese pie on the right is a recipe from my Dad's side of the family. He is Norwegian and this recipe has been passed down through the generations.
Staci G: For the leaves - roll out a pie crust, cut the leaves out with a cookie cutter, draw on veins, crunch up little balls of foil and drape the leaves over them. The foil makes the leaves wavey instead of flat. Bake them until they're brown. That's it!
Staci G: I love to make the leaves for the pies each Thanksgiving. It's soo easy and makes the pies look beautiful.
Staci G: Here's just half of the spread. Ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn souffle', green bean bundles, deviled eggs, yeast rolls, pecan pie, chocolate pie, cottage cheese pie. I can't remember it all!
Staci G: Where's the turkey? He's the one in the brown shirt! We had the neighbor smoke us a turkey and when we cut it - it was raw!!!! We laughed so hard and put it in the oven. It finished cooking when we were through eating! Don't worry, we didn't miss it!
