Gem-studded puffballs (our nature guidebook warned us that the folk remedy of inhaling these spores to control nosebleeds was dangerous. Yeah, not a problem.)

This little guy hitched a ride on my finger for a good section of the hike until I nudged him to fly away. When he flew he was a beautiful orange color.

One of the strangest rooms we've stayed in: it's actually 2 separate units, each with own entrance, connected by a weird hobbit hole in the bathroom. I'm just going with it.
