Alfred Fartknocker: Bermudair Embraer 175, VQ-BLU is an ex FlyBe jet. Here it rests at Boston after joining Bermudair, and flying over from the island.
Alfred Fartknocker: A view of the L.F.Wade Airport on Bermuda, from the Grotto Bay Hotel.
Alfred Fartknocker: A US Navy KC-130T climbs away after getting airborne on runway 30 at Bermuda. Bu.Aer 164598/ 4598 JW is with VR-62.
Alfred Fartknocker: This Orion is N42RF 'Kermit', and flew into Bermuda the day before as NOOA42. It's a heavily modded WP-3D, seen taking off the next day at Bermuda. It was built for the US Navy as Bu.Aer 159773 but joined the US Dept. of Commerce in 1976.
Alfred Fartknocker: Always best to avoid these. This CB is between Bermuda and Florida. No point spilling the customers' Gin and Tonic!
Alfred Fartknocker: The Fire Crews turned out to welcome Bermudairs' inaugural flight (BMA451) from Bermuda to Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Rainbow was a bonus as we taxi in to E8. This was in Embraer 175, VQ-BLU. Where's my pot of gold???
Alfred Fartknocker: The second (and third) jets will be here soon, but Bermudair started operations with ex FlyBe Embraer 175 VQ-BLU 'Topsey', seen here at White Plains, NY.
Alfred Fartknocker: This WP-3D Orion is NOAAs N43RF, which is often in Bermuda. This one is known as 'Miss Piggy' and was built as Bu.Aer 159875. It's a Hurricane Chaser....what a job.
Alfred Fartknocker: Embraer 175 VQ-BLU cruises over the Atlantic at FL370.
Alfred Fartknocker: You can see why Bermuda is popular...
Alfred Fartknocker: A pair of US Marine Corps KC-130J stopped at Bermuda. Bu.Aer 167924 & 169536 are with VMGR-352. 536 only flew in 2020, and is likely c/n 5886.
Alfred Fartknocker: The A319 looks rather good in this American Airlines colour scheme. N733UW is about to taxi at Bermuda.
Alfred Fartknocker: This little guy lives at the Grotto Bay Hotel in Bermuda.
Alfred Fartknocker: A riot of colour as Bermudairs' Embraer E-175, VQ-BLU 'Topsey' gets turned around at Westchester, NY.
Alfred Fartknocker: The St.Georges Pilot cutter 'Saint George' passes by our apartment in Bermuda.
Alfred Fartknocker: One of our new neighbours in St.George, Bermuda pays us a visit. What sort of bird is this?
Alfred Fartknocker: Aden with his mother at the Grotto Bay Hotel, Bermuda. A beautiful Indian girl, in love with her boy.
Alfred Fartknocker: My Wife shows her Girly good looks on our balcony, in Bermuda. It was that brief 'Golden Hour'- reflected by her here.
Alfred Fartknocker: This Douglas C-47A (DC-3) has an interesting history. Built as 42-93610, it went straight to the RAF as KG674. They sent it on to South Africa as SAAF 6838 in 1944. N353MM clearly flies on, seen in Bermuda this morning, but was also ZS-CAI at one point.
Alfred Fartknocker: I always liked these Convairs. A really tough old bird. N371FL was at a miserable Nassau this afternoon- a bit like Scotland but with warmer rain. N371FL is a CV-5800 these days, but it started life as a US Navy R4Y-1 (later C-131F) Bu.Aer 141026.
Alfred Fartknocker: Our little jet is about to land at SVD, that's Argyle Airport, St.Vincents.
Alfred Fartknocker: One of a pair of DHC-6 Twin Otters at Argyle Airport, St.Vincents (SVD) this afternoon. J8-RAF was also here alongside J8-SUN.
Alfred Fartknocker: If it looks right, it flies right.....RSS-A1 rests between flights at St.Vincents in the Caribbean. It's some sort of Metroliner. A chum of mine flew these, and hadn't many nice things to say, although I know the engines are wonderful.
Alfred Fartknocker: Someone in the tower at St.Vincents (SVD) snapped us landing there in BermudAirs' Embraer 175 VQ-BLW.
Alfred Fartknocker: BermudAir Embraer 175 VQ-BLW on the turnaround at St.Vincents in the Caribbean.
Alfred Fartknocker: The French Presidents' unmarked A 330, F-RARF (c/n 240) stopped for some gas at Bermuda today. It was operating from San Juan, Puerto-Rico back to Evraux. Operated by ET02.061.
Alfred Fartknocker: The USAF have clearly decided to take steps. This MC-130J 'COMMANDO II', seen at Bermuda did not appear on FR24, and all identifying marks have been crudely painted out... That spinner is distinctive, but I can't see me identifying this one.
Alfred Fartknocker: The US Coast Guard pay a visit to Bermuda. CG 2015 is one of their new HC-130J Hercules. This one is c/n 382-5907, and was ordered as a COMBAT KING II, 18-5907. It's the fifteenth J-model with the USCG, and entered service circa 2022.
Alfred Fartknocker: USAF MC-130Js' are often seen at Bermuda. These guys deserve a 'Dark and Stormy'. Recently, the SOS people started painting over the serials.
Alfred Fartknocker: For some reason, most of the Hercules we see in Bermuda are MC-130J or HC-130Js. 16-5857 'CA' was one of two HC-130s today.
