Alfred Fartknocker: This Pilatus PC-9M flies for the Air Force of Slovenia. It did a rather nice display at BIAS 2023, held at Baneasa RAP in Bucharesti, Romania. L9-62 is c/n 635. Note the airman fiddling with the pylons.
Alfred Fartknocker: This Aero L-29 Delphin (Dolphin) has the flag of Slovenia on the fin. OM-FLP is c/n 194434, and flew for Russia and Ukraine with bort number 47. He put on a nice display at Baneasa RAP, Bucharesti, Romania. 'MAYA' to NATO.

Alfred Fartknocker: A pukka V-2 Missile on show at the Muzeul Aviatiei in Bucharest. Had a few repairs, but too many fine details to be a replica. The Germans sent a few of these to London and Antwerp some years ago. The V stands for Vergeltungswaffe, which means 'Revenge
Alfred Fartknocker: Tuplolev made these recce drones, and they seem to have been quite widely used by the Warsaw Pact Countries, before most of them joined NATO! (3?)201 is a Tu-243 'REYS-D', I think- preserved in Bucharest.
Alfred Fartknocker: This Romanian AF MiG-15 'FAGOT' is #746, preserved at a Traian Vuia College in Craiova, Romania. This jet uses a Klimov VK-1, an unlicensed copy of the RR Nene- amazingly Britain had sent 40 Nene's to Russia- which they copied immediately!
Alfred Fartknocker: MiG-29 'Sniper' upgrade preserved at The Muzeul Aviatiei in Bucharest, Romania. 67 here was the only 'Sniper' completed after the programme was abandoned in 2003. Romania are in NATO these days, but 'FULCRUM-A' remains its NATO codename.
Alfred Fartknocker: Romania built the Alouette III under license from Sud Aviation in France. Here IAR.316B # 53 shows off at BIAS 2024 in Baneasa/ Otopeni , Bucharest.

Alfred Fartknocker: This Romanian AF C-130H- 6191, was standing inside Romaero at Otopeni. I don't think it's wfu, just missing its engines. This was ordered new by Italy as MM61991 before coming to Romania in 2004.

Alfred Fartknocker: With the F-35 starting to arrive, the F-16s are moving on as secondhand jets. The Romanian AF just received this Fokker built F-16BM from Norway. 1649 is 80-3691 that flew as 691 for the KNL. Seen at BIAS 2024.
Alfred Fartknocker: Romanian AF F-16BM 1649 is one of the most recent arrivals from Norway. Ordered as 80-3691, it flew for the KNL as 691. It's a General Dynamics design, but actually built in the Netherlands by Fokker.
Alfred Fartknocker: MiG-17PF 'FRESCO-D', 502 outside at the Muzeul Aviatiei in Bucharest, Romania.
Alfred Fartknocker: Preserved in a hospital near Rosiori di Vere, Romania is this Romanian built IAR.93B Vultur. This one is #217, a production jet. It's a bit like a sub-scale Jaguar.
Alfred Fartknocker: This An-2T had the job of dropping the parachutists at Craiova. Here YR-PBT does its post-drop flyby. 1G215-21 is not ex-mil.
Alfred Fartknocker: Luftwaffe Eurofighter 30+15 flew at Baneasa RAP during BIAS 2024 in Bucharest. It was one of two EF-2000GS sent by TLG-74 'Moelders' at Neuberg AB.
Alfred Fartknocker: Later models of the MiG-17 incorporated an 'Izumrud' radar set in the intake. 0904 is a Romanian AF MiG-17PF, 'FRESCO-D' to NATO. It's preserved in Bucharest.
Alfred Fartknocker: This is an Aerostar Iak-52, a Yak-52 produced under license in Romania. Quite an old design, but of relatively recent manufacture. #39 was one of seven taking part in BIAS 2024 at Bucharest, Romania.
Alfred Fartknocker: We don't really see the IAR.93 in the UK, but quite a few were made, and known as the Vultur in Romania & the Orao in Yugoslavia. 215 is an IAR.93MB preserved in Colonesti, Romania.

Alfred Fartknocker: The US Army sent this nicely patinated UH-60M Blackhawk to the show at Baneasa, near Bucharesti. 20354 may well be fy 2011, if so then an HH-60M, 11-20354.
Alfred Fartknocker: An IAR.99C Soim (Hawk) flies at Craiova, Romania. It's #719. This type looks a lot like an MB.326, but it is an original Romanian design.
