Alfred Fartknocker:
Flying an RJ-100 into London City.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Cessna 152 N10051 looks good in this Tangerine colour scheme. This is at Frasca, IL, as that hangar in the background is the same one in the photo I took of a 'Zero' there- two pics along in my photostream. In three weeks I landed at 40 airfields.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Anyone who has flown the Jetstream 41 will speak highly about it, the passengers not so much... G-MAJA flew for Manx, then British Regional etc. Seen here at Ronaldsway, Isle-of-Man.
Alfred Fartknocker:
The company decided to try the RJ-85 for 'thinner' routes, so they got G-LCYC (and B). This pic is of 'YC taking off at London City. Most of the fleet were RJ-100s- the last Avro?
Alfred Fartknocker:
My cabin crew suddenly realise the camera might see too much- taken in Malaga.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Nice.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Heading for Nice in Avro RJ-100 G-BZAV, we approach a Wintry looking scene over the Alps. Today was Glasgow- London City- Nice- LCY.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Here's ex BA CitiExpress BAe Jetstream 41, G-MAJD landing at Lossiemouth. I flew this aircraft during its (and my) days with BRAL- that's British Regional Airlines, it was a BA franchise.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Single-seaters are the most fun to fly. This Schleicher K-8 was no exception. 558 is with the Eagle G.C. at Detmold. I nearly came unstuck in this glider, and had to land it in a field of Brussel sprouts, luckily without damage.
Alfred Fartknocker:
This new Embraer 190 E2 is painted like a Kazakh Baryss, or Snow Leopard. Later, I did the E2 conversion and flew this thing.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Air Astana Embraer 190, P4-KCE sits on the runway at Kostanay, Kazakhstan after disembarking the passengers. I was the Captain of this thing.
Alfred Fartknocker:
One of a few Cessna 310R operated by Air Service Training at Scone. I was there to do a twin engine rating on this lovely aircraft & my first Instrument rating. G-BHKY? It went on as N310KZ in 1997, now N310PE as of 2011.
Alfred Fartknocker:
After a long dark night, heading East, we finally meet the dawn over the Heart of Eurasia.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Flying an Avro RJ-85 into London City one morning. I see we are heading 155, so probably being vectored about due to the bleeding fog...... Today was GLA-LCY-GLA-LCY in G-LCYB.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Air Costa Embraer 170 VT-LNR waits on the ramp at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh as the Sun comes up.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Lou casts her instructor, Steve Maric, a quizzical look...
Alfred Fartknocker:
P4-KHA was the first of Air Astanas' Embraer ERJ-190E2s to arrive. Embraer added this great nose art, which represents the Baryss, or Kazakh Snow Leopard. It's with me here, in Aktau, near the Caspian Sea.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Christmas in the sky.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Another hard day at work in Kazakhstan.
Alfred Fartknocker:
VT-LBR flew for Air Costa in India, until they went bust.
Alfred Fartknocker:
One of BA CityFlyers' Embraer ERJ-170s waits for take off clearance on runway 09 at London City.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Most of our flights to Uzbekistan took place at night, but here our Embraer 190, P4-KCI sits in the Tashkent Sun while the bag-chuckers do their stuff.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Sometimes the view out the window is worth a photo. Sunset as seen from RJ-100 G-BZAY. Our day was EDI-LCY-AMS-LCY according to my logbook. This would be on the last sector, flying towards London from Amsterdam.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Air Astana keep their fleet registered in Aruba, thus P4-KCE, an ERJ-190 seen at Astana, then Nur Sultan, now back to Astana.
Alfred Fartknocker:
In Hyderabad, with Air Costa. I was probably encouraging the groundcrew....
Alfred Fartknocker:
Old Bowser refuels a modern jet!
Alfred Fartknocker:
This Avro RJ-100 developed a lot of technical trouble, and Rick-R, its Captain, had to set it down here, at Southend as it was unfit for the approach at LCY. I was sent to pick it up and hop it over to London City. G-CFAA was one of the nicer ones.
Alfred Fartknocker:
Flying for Air Astana.
Alfred Fartknocker:
I got to fly this ERJ-145 as F/O & Capt- in fact my first command. G-EMBM is parked here at Bristol. 1,231 of these built and no fatal accidents- touch wood!
Alfred Fartknocker:
Air Astana have this Embraer 190 E2, P4-KHA painted with the nose of a Kazakhstan Baryss, or Snow Leopard. It seems the animal is under threat these days, sadly.
