neelysally: Jill enjoying the Sunrise Cocktail prior to take-off. Leaving for 8 days in Hawaii.
neelysally: Sally buckled in and pampered by Hawaiian Air hostess with passion fruit cocktail before we leave rainy OR for the sun on Waikiki.
neelysally: We really splurged with First Class seats, so are now spoiled as it's the only way to fly. We've had our Sunrise cocktails, comfy seats that don't end up in your neighbor's lap when you recline with room to stretch your legs , ready for take-off.
neelysally: Tuesday morning we rode the airport shuttle from the Radisson where we spent the night. During the ride we met and visited with Mel and another Hawaiian Air hostess, so when we boarded they gave us hugs and extra attention.
neelysally: Another hostess in First Class - the only way to go! I've never flown first class before, but what a difference it made. One could almost enjoy flying if all seats were like they were in first class.
neelysally: hostess
neelysally: These snacks arrived shortly after take-off and were given out a couple of times during the 6-hour flight from Portland to Honolulu.
neelysally: Two choice of appetizers, both delicious.
neelysally: My appetizer was yummy also.
neelysally: Dessert was passion fruit cheesecake - melt in the mouth, fantastic.
neelysally: Oahu in view
neelysally: After 6 hours flying, we're coming into Honolulu with Pearl Harbor to the left.
neelysally: Pearl Harbor
neelysally: Arrived at our five-star military hotel on Waikiki: Hale Koa. This was taken inside the open lobby looking toward the vehicle turn-around.
neelysally: Hale Koa Hotel entrance - beautiful open lobby area.
neelysally: Lobby of the Hale Koa where we stayed for eight days in Honolulu.
neelysally: A small part of the huge lobby at Hale Koa Hotel in Honolulu where we thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Oahu.
neelysally: Hale Koa lobby
neelysally: Ice reindeer in lobby
neelysally: One of two beds in our room on the 8th floor of one tower at Hale Koa Hotel, Waikiki.
neelysally: On each floor and the lobby by the elevators were framed Hawaiian quilts, each different and so beautiful. This one was on our 8th floor.
neelysally: This framed quilt was by the lobby elevators.
neelysally: Along one of the walkways out from the lobby were animated Christmas scenes. In this one the Gingerbread Boy slowly turned.
neelysally: Another animated staging along the walkway. All three teddys moved to the music.
neelysally: Another animated scene with the penguins dancing to music, viewed as we walked along the walkway going to breakfast at Koko's, one of several restaurants in the hotel.
neelysally: Christmas decortions everywhere
neelysally: Sitting on our 8th floor balcony, our constant companions were these birds. They were very used to people, so it took being aggresive to shoo them away.
neelysally: Another view of our constant companions, this shot also shows rooms in the second tower of our hotel across the open lanai.
neelysally: Sally checking her e-mails on Jill's computer. My ankles were swollen after the 6-hour flight, so was propping them up while resting on our balcony.
neelysally: Lanai
