Bob_ Perry: Louise in visitor center parkiing lot - this is what six inches on Mt. Laguna looks like - 12-27-16

Bob_ Perry: First order of business was to shovel steps. Louise has done this before; same set of steps.

Bob_ Perry: Near 2 p.m. the stairs are finally cleared.... until next time. Two new storms coming in five days! More snow!

Bob_ Perry: This was the Visitor Center parking lot at 11 a.m.

Bob_ Perry: We started clearing a path to the store but only got half way there - 12-27-16

Bob_ Perry: WE ONLY OPENED A FOOT WIDE PATH HALF WAY TO THE STORE.

Bob_ Perry: I started to shovel a narrow path to the store. Chipping ice is tough. This is about as far as I got before my motivation hit the zero mark.

Bob_ Perry: Inside the visitor center it's warm and cozy with the fireplace slowly warming it up to 62 degrees. This is my best buddy of 61 years, Louise. She says she comes along to pick me up from the ice.

Bob_ Perry: One of two women's toilets was out of order. Even when both are working the line forms during snow days.

Bob_ Perry: What you see here is the parking lot, unplowed, two days after the storm, still covered in ICE. Cars can get stuck just in the parking lot.

Bob_ Perry: Clumps of snow still on the bushes two days after six inches fell. This is the visitor center front yard.

Bob_ Perry: SEEN THROUGH THE WINDOW AT THE VISITOR CENTER. FOLKS WERE HAVING FUN IT SEEMED.

Bob_ Perry: Line forms to use the women's toilets. One was broken and closed. Some used the men's toilet when not in use with a guard at the door.

Bob_ Perry: Visitor Center front yard with snow still clumped on the bushes.

Bob_ Perry: At 1:57 p.m. Louise was still working on the stairs!

Bob_ Perry: We did have bird visitors too: Freeloaders! (LEFT CLICK on any of these images for a LARGER view)

Bob_ Perry: Trees on the east side of the Visitor Center about 3:30 p.m.

Bob_ Perry: This was the vistor center parking lot at 3:40 p.m as we were leaving at the end of our five hour shift.
