A sheet can only bend one way. As long as you force it to stay bent on the long axis, you can walk with the sheet, without it buckling.

Ariel and I doing 'the flip', the most critical step in fabbing honeycomb panels. Glue has to be applied on the UP side of the top sheet, but then it must face down to make the completed honeycomb panel. Hence 'the flip'.
