Just had an "a-ha!" moment followed by a "well duh" moment - not spinning or pressing the water out of a wet skein evenly before dunking in an afterbath = uneven streaks of color. Nifty! But I kinda knew that already, because pre-soaking the yarn for even

Remember the basil blossom and kukui leaf dyed yarn? I split it into 4 skeins. Left - no afterbath, iron afterbath, avocado pit/ammonia afterbath, iron afterbath (more dilute). #yearofmaking
