magnolia360: Okanagan trip August 2018
magnolia360: Grapes almost ready but the leaves look a bit drought stressed.
magnolia360: NK’mip winery near Osooyos.
magnolia360: This one won platinum and tastes amazing
magnolia360: Lunch!
magnolia360: I thought it was a pizza called “calzone” because of the toppings but it really was calzone. Brunch menu was a bit limited.
magnolia360: Special anniversary bag this year.
magnolia360: Always a favourite
magnolia360: Something may have been wrong with this hawk as he stayed on the ground, even when I wanted to drive past.
magnolia360: My home the next few days, way up the hill along the Naramata bench
magnolia360: Breakfast: bagel, muffin, coffee, juice & the newspaper. With a view!
magnolia360: The rain did a great job of clearing the haze. Morning still had the lake with a few whitecaps but all in all a perfect day for a walk on the KVR trail and some wine tasting north in Lake Country.
magnolia360: I’m staying at the “Singing Marmot”. No heavy wine-tasting & driving up this road and driveway in the dark with no streetlights! The name was for the way parent marmots call their kits home in the evening. But no marmot sightings. Hibernating?
magnolia360: Never get tired of these views. Gray Monk winery in Lake Country.
magnolia360: Getting closer to harvest. Some places already have their nets against birds out.
magnolia360: Tasting room.
magnolia360: Another winery in Lake Country, Arrowleaf.
magnolia360: Flowers and vines.
magnolia360: Such a bonus to be staying just steps away from this great walking, cycling, horseback riding trail.
magnolia360: Heading south.
magnolia360: Old railway trestle.
magnolia360: Not every grape is good enough for the final harvest.
magnolia360: Row on row on row...
magnolia360: So lush!
magnolia360: Of course other fruit is still grown on the bench.
magnolia360: This tree was allowed to just hang over the path “wild”.
magnolia360: Other small beauties.
magnolia360: How would it be if mountains, vineyards and a lake were your “permanent” view? Haven’t looked up history of this cemetery (called Lakeview, duh) but did not see any very recent dates on the headstones.
magnolia360: Back to one of my favourites
magnolia360: They really have been a long line of winemakers on BOTH sides.
