Maggie Allan: I took photos at the three log pile areas on the new forest road so we can see exactly how much work is actually done in the next year to justify the new road
Maggie Allan: What looks like an old forest break near the top of the road
Maggie Allan: I had an explore and this is the top of the area which was felled and replanted a few years ago - without the need for the new forest road!
Maggie Allan: The sad site of the old bothy at the top turning circle
Maggie Allan: The route of the old bridleway to Watendlath comes through here at the back of the bothy - notice the lower bar has been recently sawn off
Maggie Allan: A bog to negotiate! Interestingly someone had been along the route quite recently with a saw and secateurs!
Maggie Allan: After about a quarter of a mile I came across this sawn off plank?
Maggie Allan: This was where it came from. I exited the forest here as the way ahead became increasingly overgrown
Maggie Allan: A little further along a stile marks the original route of the bridleway
Maggie Allan: Back at the turning circle after walking along the southern side of the wall
