In early 2000, LA LISC provided its first loan to Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) for a real estate development project in affordable and mixed-income housing.

LTSC later ventured into mixed-use projects, blending commercial, residential, and community facilities. LA LISC grants have enabled LTSC to create a vibrant commercial corridor.
Local Initiatives:
The LISC/LTSC partnership is in the initial phases of a comprehensive approach to community development, starting with TOD around the new Little Tokyo/Arts District Regional Connector station.
Local Initiatives:
In 2013, LTSC gathered over 200 community stakeholders and hosted a weekend-long design charette. Stakeholders shared ideas on what they would like near the new Little Tokyo Regional Connector station.

LTSC is exploring building the “Budokan,” a community facility that will preserve cultural identity and serve as a focal point for a new generation of Japanese-Americans in Little Tokyo.

LA LISC looks forward to continuing our partnership with LTSC for many years to come.
