L Takata: Cotton dye results july 21 2015. Left to simmer in sun 4 days before unwrapping. This project used up all the mish mash of mislabeled dyes I inherited, I added water, salt and soda ash to each batch of unknown 'soup' and blended results together.

L Takata: July 23. This is fiber I left soaking in a bucket of water I used to rinse out the empty dye containers from the earlier project. Amazingly there was enough dye residue to dye cotton (turquoise, on left) and wool (a khaki shade, on right).
L Takata: Cotton of unknown origin from Refugee Focus, has vm, Extra long dye bath, left bundled while out of town a few weeks to see if better color saturation results. Did rinse out some dye in the dye bath but hues remained strong except bronze.
L Takata: Cotton dyed with food dye gel 12/20/16. Not very satisfied with these, despite thorough saturation the cotton did not retain most of the color, which washed down the drain. Inexpensive kool aid packets would probably have done as well or better.
